Getting Married in
County Cavan?
Planning your wedding in County Cavan?
Well, you've certainly got some lovely venues to choose from!
From beautiful castles and country houses to lakeside hotels, Cavan has some wonderful settings for a wedding. But wherever you've chosen to celebrate, there's one part of the day that should feel completely personal to you - your ceremony.
I'm Karen, a wedding celebrant and registered solemniser based just outside Dundalk, and I conduct personalised and legally recognised wedding ceremonies throughout County Cavan.
Whether you're planning a big celebration with all your family and friends or something smaller and more intimate, I'd love to hear what you have in mind.
Perhaps you're looking for a ceremony that's romantic and heartfelt, or maybe you'd prefer something relaxed with a little humour thrown in. Most couples want a bit of both, and that's absolutely fine!
We'll work together to create a ceremony that feels comfortable, natural and genuinely reflects the two of you.
And don't worry if you haven't a clue where to start.
That's what I'm here for!
Some Lovely Places to Get Married in Cavan
If you're planning a wedding in County Cavan, you're certainly not short of beautiful places to celebrate!
There's Cabra Castle, with its wonderful character and fairytale setting. It's a lovely choice for couples who want a castle wedding with a bit of grandeur.
Virginia Park Lodge is another beautiful option, with its historic country house, gorgeous gardens and views across Lough Ramor. It's a wonderful setting for couples looking for something a little different, with plenty of character and privacy.
Then there's Farnham Estate, surrounded by beautiful countryside, offering a gorgeous setting for a wedding celebration.
If you're drawn to somewhere overlooking the water, Crover House Hotel on the shores of Lough Sheelin is another lovely option.
And of course, there's The Slieve Russell Hotel, with its beautiful grounds and plenty of space for a larger wedding celebration.
Cavan Crystal Hotel is another popular choice, particularly for couples who want everything conveniently located in one venue.
But you certainly don't need a castle or a grand hotel to have a beautiful ceremony!
Whether you're getting married in one of Cavan's well-known wedding venues or somewhere smaller and more intimate, what matters to me is creating a ceremony that feels right for you.
And wherever you've chosen, I'll bring the same care, attention and personal approach to your wedding day.
A Wedding Ceremony That's All About You
Your wedding ceremony is the moment you've been planning towards.
The part where you actually get married!
And while the flowers, the music and the beautiful surroundings all add to the occasion, it's what happens during those few minutes that you'll remember.
When you book me to conduct your wedding ceremony in County Cavan, we'll take the time to get to know each other. I'll listen to your ideas, find out what matters to you both and help you create something that feels completely natural.
Maybe you'd love to include your love story, exchange personal vows or involve your children or family members. Perhaps a handfasting or unity candle would be a lovely addition.
Or maybe you'd prefer to keep things simple, with just the two of you making your promises to each other.
There's no right or wrong way to do it.
And because I'm a registered solemniser, I can conduct your legal wedding ceremony too, so you don't need to have a separate civil ceremony beforehand.
I'll guide you through everything, from choosing your readings and vows to understanding the legal requirements, so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about what comes next.
Because your ceremony should feel like the two of you, not something you've picked out of a catalogue!
You're in Good Hands
There's a lot more to conducting a wedding ceremony than standing at the top of the aisle with a microphone!
After more than 30 years working in hospitality, including over 21 years at Ballymascanlon House Hotel, I've learned a thing or two about weddings, people and keeping everything running smoothly.
And one thing I've learned is that couples don't need someone making a big fuss. They need someone who knows what they're doing, keeps everyone calm and makes them feel comfortable.
That's exactly how I approach your ceremony.
I'll be there early, make sure everything is ready, have a chat with anyone who's feeling a little nervous and look after all those little details that you shouldn't have to worry about.
And if something doesn't go quite according to plan? Don't worry. After all my years in weddings, it takes quite a lot to rattle me!
My aim is simple. I want you to enjoy your ceremony, feel completely at ease and know that everything is being looked after.
Because when the time comes to walk down that aisle, the only thing you should be thinking about is getting married.
