Sometimes it's the little personal touches that make a wedding ceremony particularly memorable.
Symbolic rituals are a lovely way to bring something meaningful into your ceremony, whether that's celebrating your commitment to each other, involving your children or family, or including a tradition that has special significance for you both.
From handfasting and unity candles to sand blending and ring warming, there are lots of ways to make these moments your own.
You don't have to include a ritual at all, and there's certainly no need to add one just for the sake of it. But if something catches your interest, I'll help you find a way to include it naturally in your ceremony.
A Little Something Extra
for Your Ceremony
Handfasting
A beautiful tradition where your hands are
gently bound with ribbons or cords,
symbolising the promises you're making to one another.
Sand Blending
Different coloured sands are poured
together into one vessel, creating a
keepsake that can also include your
children or other family members.
Ring Warming
Your wedding rings are passed among
family and friends, giving them an
opportunity to quietly share their good
wishes before you exchange them.
Wishing Stones
Guests hold a small stone and make a silent wish for your future together.
The stones are then collected as a lovely
keepsake from your wedding.
Unity Candle
Two individual candles are used to light one central candle, representing your marriage while celebrating each of you as individuals.
Time Capsule
Letters, photographs or meaningful little
keepsakes are placed in a box to be opened on a future anniversary, bringing back
memories of your wedding day.
