Funerals &
Celebration of Life
Saying goodbye to someone you love is never easy, and finding the right words to remember them can feel overwhelming.
A funeral or celebration of life ceremony is an opportunity to come together with family and friends, share memories and remember someone in a way that reflects who they were.
Every person is different, and I believe their ceremony should reflect that.
Whether you're looking for something traditional, a little less formal or a celebration filled with stories, music and personal memories, I'll take the time to listen and understand what matters most to you and your family.
My role is to guide you through the ceremony arrangements, help you make decisions and create something personal, respectful and appropriate for the person you're remembering.
You don't need to have everything worked out before getting in touch. We can talk through it together.
A Personal Way to Remember Someone
Creating a Ceremony That Feels Right
There isn't one particular way a funeral or celebration of life ceremony has to be conducted.
Some families prefer a traditional structure, with readings, music and a tribute to their loved one.
Others would like something more relaxed, where family and friends can share stories, memories and perhaps even a little laughter as they remember the person they've lost.
We can include favourite songs, meaningful readings, personal reflections and contributions from family members or friends.
If there are religious or spiritual traditions that are important to your family, we can discuss how these might be included.
And if you'd prefer a completely non-religious ceremony, that's absolutely fine too.
What matters is that the ceremony reflects the person being remembered and feels comfortable for the family and friends attending.
How I Can Help
When someone dies, there can be a lot of decisions to make in a relatively short space of time.
I'll work closely with you and, where appropriate, your funeral director to help make the ceremony arrangements as straightforward as possible.
We'll have a conversation about your loved one, their personality, the things they enjoyed and the memories you'd like to share.
You don't need to prepare a formal account of their life or have all the answers ready. We can talk naturally, and I'll help you bring the important details together.
From there, I'll prepare a personalised ceremony that reflects the person you're remembering.
I'll also help you choose readings, music and other elements, and guide family members or friends who would like to take part.
On the day, I'll conduct the ceremony with care and respect, making sure everything flows as smoothly as possible.
My aim is to take some of the pressure away from you, so you can concentrate on remembering your loved one and being with the people around you.

Kind Words From a Family I've Helped
“Karen came into our lives during one of the darkest times we’ve experienced, as she led my father’s funeral service.
From our first interaction to the day itself, she was a calm and reassuring presence, gently guiding us through everything while clearly explaining each step.
She made what felt overwhelming much more manageable.
Karen delivered a beautiful, personal service that truly honoured my dad, and we will always be grateful for the care and compassion she showed our family.
She is a wonderful celebrant and an even better person. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for someone to lead a meaningful and dignified service.”
- Dariuss Mazahery, son of Amir
Different Ways to Remember
A personal farewell doesn't have to follow a particular format.
Depending on your family's wishes, we can create a ceremony that includes:
A Celebration of Life
A gathering that focuses on the person's life, personality, relationships and the memories they leave behind.
A Personal Funeral Ceremony
A respectful farewell that brings family and friends together through readings, music, tributes and shared memories.
A Memorial Ceremony
A ceremony held separately from the funeral, perhaps some weeks or months later, giving family and friends another opportunity to come together and remember.
A Small, Private Farewell
For families who would prefer something quieter and more intimate, with just a small number of people attending.
Whatever you're considering, we can have a conversation about what would feel most appropriate.
